Human Indignity, Karl Marx and the Spiritual Challenge of Getting Beyond the Dollar

There was a shocking scene during the public senate hearing in the USA in early May on the nomination of Gina Haspel as the new Director of the CIA. It is known that Haspel was involved in the waterboarding torture of terrorist suspects in a prison in Thailand, but she herself classified documents about her own part in this. When Ray McGovern, a former CIA analyst who has become a whistle blower, and also appears regularly on Russia Today, asked about her activities in Thailand, he was brutally interrupted, dragged to the floor and pulled out of the room. A pitiful scene, demonstrating that “democracy” may immediately be abrogated the minute the ‘wrong questions’ are asked…
On 5 May we remembered the 200th anniversary of the birth of Karl Marx, the most influential father of modern thought on the subjects of labour, property, capital etc.
What is less known, is the karmic background of this pioneer of economic and social theories. From his spiritual research, Rudolf Steiner revealed that Marx was a landowner in Northern France in the early 9th century, and that one day his property was seized by a rival. Marx was then forced to work under the new owner of his former property. The new owner reincarnated as Friedrich Engels, who embarked on a compensatory cooperation with his former rival.
Thus old impulses of destiny may work on in a new incarnation. No wonder that Marx became a fierce enemy of all private property, having himself experienced in a previous life how insecure the private ownership of property can become. Those seeking deeper insight into this historic-karmic background of Marx and Engels and their activities are referred to Steiner’s lecture of 6 April 1924. [GA 236].
Beijing launched its yuan-denominated crude oil futures in Shanghai on 26 March, with the aim of challenging the US dollar, the predominant settlement currency for oil contracts. This challenge is healthy but should be accompanied by a more spiritual understanding of the basic concepts of Marxism. TPA has published leading articles in this direction, mainly by the Swiss banker Alexander Caspar. Thinking has to be developed into three higher modes of cognition. Abstract thought alone cannot even understand the fluid nature (within the spectrum of production, distribution and consumption) of economic goods. Here the faculty of real imagination is required. Even more difficult for modern abstract and materialistic thinking is to grasp the essence of what work or labour really is; this requires inspiration. And capital, the most spiritual of all, can only be adequately comprehended by real intuition.2
Without such a widening of the horizon of understanding, materialism and world domination by the power of capital will remain – even after the challenge and overthrow of the dollar.

Wenn in der großen Welt einer Regierung das Ergebnis eines Referendums nicht passt, lässt man es einfach wiederholen. So geschehen im Juni 2008 in Irland. Beim ersten Referendum über den Vertrag von Lissabon wurde dieser Vertrag vom Volk verworfen. Darauf setzte eine (Des-) Informationskampagne ein. Mit dem Ergebnis des zweiten Referendums im Oktober 2009 waren die führenden Kreise zufrieden.
Einfacher, mit weniger Aufwand, geht das im kleinen Dornach in der Schweiz. Die Mitglieder der Anthroposophischen Gesellschaft stimmten bei der diesjährigen Generalversammlung am 24. März mehrheitlich gegen die Verlängerung der Amtszeit der zwei Vorstandsmitglieder Bodo von Plato und Paul Mackay.
Bereits am 26. März schrieben die noch amtierenden Vorstandsmitglieder Wittich, Sleigh, Kalkis und Girke an «Liebe Mitarbeitende am Goetheanum»: «Wie Sie erlebt und gehört haben, hat leider eine Mehrheit der anwesenden Mitglieder der Anthroposophischen Gesellschaft den Vorschlag des Vorstandes und der Goetheanum-Leitung auf eine weitere Amtszeit von Paul Mackay und Bodo von Plato abgelehnt. (…) Wir bedauern dies nach 22jähriger bzw. 17jähriger Vorstands-tätigkeit sehr.» Dann stellten sie fest: «Paul Mackay und Bodo von Plato gehören in ihrer Mitverantwortung für die Allgemeine Anthroposophische Sektion weiterhin der Goetheanum-Leitung an. Daran ändert sich bis auf weiteres nichts. Lediglich Unterschrift im Zusammenhang mit der Vorstandsfunktion werden von beiden ab sofort nicht mehr getätigt.»
Die Allgemeine Sektion ist für die Handhabung der «Klasse» zuständig, die jahrzehntelang durch spirituelle Führungsprätentionen gründlich fehlgeleitet worden war. In dieser Sektion dürfen die in einwandfreiem Verfahren Abgewählten also weiterhin mitreden! Wie wenig es im Übrigen auf Unterschriften ankommt, weiß man in allen Bananenrepubliken genauso gut wie in deren kleinem Dornacher Abbild.
Der Restvorstand versetzte der Mehrheit der Abstimmenden mit diesem Schreiben einen Fußtritt, ebenso dem Schweizer Vereinsrecht. In Dornach gilt offenbar nach wie vor «höheres» Recht, auf das sich schon Albert Steffen berufen hatte, nämlich das «Mysterienrecht»…
Wir haben in der letzten Nummer über Karma-Illusionen im Zusammenhang mit Steiners Michael-Prophetie berichtet. Hier ist nachzutragen, dass auf der besagten GV eine Verteidigerin von Paul Mackay in Erscheinung treten durfte, die sich für Ita Wegman hält. Sie hatte mir vor vielen Jahren in einem persönlichen Gespräch zudem berichtet, dass sie Paul Mackay als den wiederverkörperten D.N. Dunlop betrachtet! Man reibe sich die Augen. Kein Traum! Wahn-Wirklichkeit auf der Dornacher März-GV. Pro Memoria: Mackay war verantwortlich für die niederländischen Inserate, mit denen man sich sicherheitshalber von einem allfälligen «Rassismus» in der Anthroposophie distanzieren wollte («Insoferne es eine Rassenlehre bei Steiner gibt, distanzieren wir uns von ihr.») Von Plato empfahl schon 2002 «keinerlei Bezugnahme auf Rudolf Steiner», um mit der «Anthroposophie» nicht allzusehr Anstoß zu erregen. Zurück zu einer großen Bananenrepublik: Der Gift-Fall Skripal in Salisbury könnte nach einem Drehbuch von Alfred Jarry oder Eugène Ionesco abgewickelt worden sein, nicht weniger absurd als die oben berichteten Vorgänge. Die chemische Analyse in einem Schweizer Labor in Spiez ergab schließlich, dass das Gift nicht nur in Russland, sondern praktisch überall in der Welt in einem dafür ausgestatteten Labor hergestellt werden konnte. Eine Revanche für die von den Russen getöteten britischen Soldaten? Sollte einfach das NATO-Budget erhöht werden? Oder ein Vorwand zur Bombardierung von Syrien am fatalen 14. April konstruiert werden? Dann entsprächen die dreisten Mutmaßungen und Behauptungen gegenüber der «Schuld» Russlands eher einer Vorlage Machiavellis.
